Veritas Life Sciences is an innovative Biotech company, focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of high-added value biomolecules that assist the global challenge in the area of human health.

The company was founded by enterprising scientists who have knowledge and experience in the use and commercialization of post-genomics approaches to accelerate the discovery and to develop valuable new target proteins.

Our R&D platform, named integrated-Proteome Research System (i-PRS), uses advanced technologies, all uniquely integrated in “workflows” efficient owners who allow the discovery and validation of new compositions of materials with real therapeutic and/or diagnosis potential. In collaboration with a group of leading scientists in their areas, the Veritas-Health team are applying the “i-PRS” platform to identify new targets against many serious diseases with high incidence among Brazilian population. Our approach for the identification of these targets reduces significantly the time spent until the clinical development phases and enhances the chances for clinical success. Our scientific expertise and business strategy guarantees us a straight path for discovery, validation and commercialization of the products in our R&D pipeline, which are targets for therapy or diagnosis.

Mission:

Our mission is to apply the innovative biotechnological platform iPRS developed for us to i) identify licensable molecular markers for the global market of diagnosis and therapy for cancer and other neglected diseases and ii) offer services of advanced analysis of proteins to supply the national and Latin American demand for highly qualified services.

Vision:

Veritas Life Sciences pursue to become a leader organization in Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I). The company is focused in discovery, development and commercialization of valuable biomolecules for the human health priorities; we will contribute for the advance of Biotechnology in Brazil.

Principles:

Operate nationally and internationally with all the legal and ethical orientation.

Promote an environment of work that nourishes the respect and rewards the creativity, innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and commitment of the team members.

Company’s history

Parque Tecnologico

Veritas Biotechnology, which uses the fantasy name of Veritas Life Sciences, was founded in 2008 by an initiative of four entrepreneur scientists in order to return to Brazil after years of professional experience in American institutions and companies, which lead biomedical and biotechnological researches in USA.All Veritas founder team has post-doctorate in Sciences and/or business experience in the USA. The more than 30 yearsof accumulated experiences by the partners in research, development and innovation (R&D&I) of the post-genomic technological platforms, applied to the studies of diseases and diagnosis resulted in several publications, patent registration and release of commercial products.

In June of 2008, the company had its business plan selected for admission as an incubated company in SUPERA Cluster (USP – Ribeirao Preto). Our business plan was selected for the presentation on the BioVenture Forum, organized by FINEP and the Biominas Foundation in the Biolatina 2008 calendar. Then, Veritas, with its broad mastery of post-genomic techniques and business expertise, has been highlighted through the approval and successful realization of several innovative projects supported by financial agencies, such as FAPESP, CNPQ (RHAE) and FINEP. Currently, Veritas has R&D projects in advanced stages (pre-clinical phase) being successfully developed, well-trained and motivated team and is about to deposit two patents.

In addition, our area to provide biotechnological services was stablished and Veritas is already considered as a reference for advanced analysis of proteins in Brazil due to the quality and agility of the results. Recently, we were selected to integrate the Science Park in Ribeirao Preto, which allowed our expansion. In the current scenario,  Veritas is pursuing actively private partners.
